  • The talk submission deadline has passed.
  • Also, San Luis Obispo is a very busy tourist town on the weekend. If you haven't already made a hotel reservation, please reserve your hotel room early (see below).
The Meeting
  • Registration. If you are planning on attending the meeting, please use this link to register.

Resources for those coming to the meeting

  • Hotels. The weekend of the meeting is also "Wildflower Weekend" here in San Luis Obispo. Historically, this is a very busy weekend in town. We encourage you to reserve early. When you call a San Luis Obispo hotel, mention the "Cal Poly Physics Department" and "AAPT meeting" to get a special rate. Here's some help in finding a hotel:

    • We have several "blocks" of hotel rooms at a few local hotels reserved for people attending the AAPT meeting. Click here for a list of these hotels. When you make a reservation, metion "Cal Poly Physics AAPT Meeting" for a special rate.

    • Click here for a list of hotels in the city of San Luis Obispo. These are the ones we expect to fill up fast during the weekend of the meeting.

    • Click here for a list of hotels within 30 miles of San Luis Obispo. If the hotels in San Luis Obispo are are full, we'd recommend selecting a hotel to the south first, which includes the cities of: Arroyo Grande, Avila Beach, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Oceano, Nipomo, and even Santa Maria.

  • Directions to Cal Poly: Click here for directions by air, car, and train. Contains maps of the campus and surrounding area too.

  • Parking on campus is free on Saturdays (the main meeting day). Those of you wishing to attend some of the workshops on Friday will have to pay $2 - $4 for a day-long parking permit. These permits are available at the parking kiosks conveniently located at all campus entrances.

  • Surrounding Area: Click here for information about the area around Cal Poly, including hotels, weather, and other local information. If you'll be finding a hotel room, we recommend any hotel in San Luis Obispo. All are relatively close to Cal Poly.
